Electrical Systems
High & LowVoltage.
Installation and management of electrical systems for industrial, commercial and residential projects across Monaco and the Alpes Maritimes.
Every building runs on a system nobody sees.We build that system.
What is the difference between high current and low current?
High current (courant fort) carries energy: distribution boards, sockets, lighting, HVAC and backup power. Low current (courant faible) carries information: home automation, alarms, video surveillance, networking and energy monitoring. A building needs both, run in separate cable routes so the power side does not interfere with the signal side. MYELEC designs, installs and connects both on the same project.

High current or low current?
The two are often confused with high and low voltage, which is a different distinction: that one is a threshold of 1000 V. Courant fort and courant faible describe what a circuit carries, not how much of it.
| High current | Low current | |
|---|---|---|
| Carries | Energy | Information |
| Usual voltage | 230 V to 400 V, up to high voltage | Generally under 50 V |
| Feeds | Distribution boards, sockets, lighting, HVAC, backup power | Home automation, alarms, video surveillance, networking, monitoring |
| On site we install | Distribution systems, transformers, power factor correction | KNX, building management, sensors, access control |
| Cabling rule | Its own cable routes | Kept apart from the power side to avoid interference |
